Public libraries are public trusts. Without the support of our patrons and community members, the Centerville Public Library’s long history of service could not continue. While some libraries and their grounds are fully funded by state or local resources, others are independent organizations managed by their own volunteer Board of Trustees. This fiscal year the Centerville Public Library will receive 49% of the operating budget from the Town of Barnstable. The remaining funds must be raised through contributions, foundation grants and special events. The biggest source of funding for the Centerville Public Library is our Annual Appeal.

The Centerville Public Library’s Annual Appeal helps to provide operating expenses for the library.. Donations to the library are used to purchase books and materials, to support children’s programming, to offer community events, and to sustain services.

Your donation to the Centerville Public Library is a gift to your community - a way to ensure that our children, our families, our friends, neighbors and visitors have the resources necessary to fulfill their life adventure.

It is never too late to join the Annual Appeal. Contributions are accepted at any time throughout the year. Please ask at the front desk. Our director, Beth Butler and her staff would be more then happy to point you in the right direction.
