Fines

As of 2024, the Centerville Public Library is Fine-Free!

Exceptions to this policy:
Although Centerville Library is no longer charging for overdue items, items loaned from other CLAMS libraries may still accrue a fine. Fines will also continue to be charged for ComCat and Interlibrary Loan materials.

Lost or Damaged Items
If an item is more than six weeks overdue, patrons will be billed for it and an automatic block will be put on their account. If you have the billed item in your possession, please return it to the library and we will happily remove the fine from your account.
If the item has been lost or damaged, patrons are required to pay a replacement fee in order to continue borrowing items from the CLAMS system. This fee varies depending on the cost of the item.
We request that you not replace the item on your own, as they are often library-specific copies and the cost to you may be higher than the amount billed.
